Psychosynthesis Institute: Pi

Tools for Personal & Social Transformation

From the center… something begins

We are gently launching the Psychosynthesis Institute (Pi) as a virtual space for resources and training in personal and professional development in service of social transformation, and as an evolving center for global hubs offering in-person initiatives and programming.

Like pi in mathematics, describing the infinite relationship between a circle and its center, our experience in teaching and sharing psychosynthesis reflects an ongoing movement between inner awareness and outer expression; between what emerges within and what takes form in the world.

Rooting & Evolving

Pi has evolved from Synthesis Center San Francisco as our work with psychosynthesis deepened in purpose and widened in scope over time.

Like many psycho-spiritual traditions this unfolding moves through phases of differntiation, taking shape in diverse forms as it evolves.

Our intention is to hold this process with care, so that these forms are honored in their distinctiveness, and our individual, collaborative, and collective efforts can grow in coherence rather than division.

The Psychosynthesis Institute (Pi) is one contribution within a wider field, shaped by many, past and present and into the future. Psychosynthesis continues to be shared through the many programs, centers, and organizations carrying and interpreting Assagioli’s work in varied expressions.

In Service of Personal & Social Transformation

Our orientation is to offer tools for personal and professional development in service of social transformation, honoring Roberto Assagioli’s vision that self-realization is not an end in itself, but a first step toward right human relations and a more conscious and unified humanity.

While we will continue to offer professional training, our deeper commitment is to bring psychosynthesis into everyday life by offering resources, programs and experiences that support personal growth and self-development. We are committed to sharing the transformative gifts of psychosynthesis with a wider community.

Our Unfolding

This will be a gentle and gradual transition.

Current programs continue and these will be integrated here over time as new offerings take shape.

This is an opening, into a larger unfolding.

Psychosynthesis

Deepening Purpose ~ Widening Scope

Depths & Heights

Psychosynthesis is a transpersonal psychology that explores the depths and heights of human experience.

The psyche is understood as as a living, dynamic whole with every aspect connected and evolving through a gentle but powerful process of bringing what is hidden or unresolved into awareness, while also awakening what is most vital, meaningful and alive within us.

Continuity & Expansion

Pi reflects a deepening of purpose and a widening of our scope in how psychosynthesis is experienced and shared.

Emerging from the foundation of Synthesis Center San Francisco, we are held within an international community of practitioners, facilitators, students and graduates with connections across North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, India, Australia, and New Zealand.

This breadth of participation brings a range of cultural perspectives and lived experience, enriching both the learning environment and the ways in which the work is carried forward.

Co-Creating A Living Network

The institute will serve as a virtual center for a gradual formation of hubs, offering in-person programs and initiatives across diverse locations and contexts. We envision this as a living network of locally grounded expressions, each responsive to its own place and community, and held in relationship with a wider field.

This orientation is inspired by the Istituto di Psicosintesi founded by Roberto Assagioli, with its center at Casa Assagioli in Florence and its network of semi-autonomous hubs throughout Italy.

Within this model, both the center and local initiatives support one another in holding the core foundations of the work of self-development through shared commitment and collaboration.

At the same time, each hub is shaped by its own context, bringing forward its own distinct character and expression, much like regional traditions that share a common foundation while offering their own flavor.

Common Ground & Distinct Expression

In this way, a common ground is sustained, while distinct expressions continue to come into form.

This is both our inspiration and our vision as we move forward supported by a growing community of advisors, facilitators, coaches, students and participants.

Current & Emerging Psychosynthesis Programs

Psychosynthesis invites us to reclaim the center within, the ground of being that is not confined to diagnosis, persona, or the story of our pain.  This is the inner center of “self” awareness, capable of holding the vastness of our consciousness: our depths, our heights, and the quiet dignity of our shared humanity.

Psychosynthesis offers us more than healing ‘what has been’, it invites us to create a life of becoming aligned with purpose, meaning and values.  Psychosynthesis is a process of integrating our experience into a more coherent, enlivened way of being and doing.

Our programs offer a range of pathways for experiencing psychosynthesis for both personal and professional development.

This includes a Board Certified Coach training (120 hours), offered online through a blend of live webinars and on-demand learning, alongside ongoing opportunities for continued growth.

From personal development experiences to advanced training, peer supervision, and the cultivation of a sustainable practice, our offerings support the integration of psychosynthesis into life and work.

Our next accredited psychosynthesis coach training will begin in October 2026 with additional continuing education training launching in the late Spring/early Summer 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Psychosynthesis Institute (Pi) related to Synthesis Center San Francisco?

Synthesis Center San Francisco is the foundation from which Pi has grown. It has been a place for teaching, community, and the development of psychosynthesis-based programs over many years in collaboration with The Synthesis Center, Amherst.

The Psychosynthesis Institute (Pi) is our new organization’s name  reflecting an evolution of that foundation, expanding into a more distributed, global model and is designed  to be a virtual center with connected regional hubs, supporting both online learning and in-person initiatives in different locations.

This is a continuation, not a departure, carrying forward what has been established, while opening into a wider field of participation and expression.

What programming is available now?

We are in a gentle launch phase, and not everything is fully updated on our sites yet.

Some current programs continue, including two coach training cohorts in progress and some continuing education.

Additional offerings will be integrated and listed here in the upcoming weeks, with a new cohort of our accredited Coach Training beginning in Fall 2026.

What will be offered in the future?

In the upcoming weeks,we will updating our programs and Pi will be offering:

  • Board Certified Accredited Psychosynthesis Coach training: next cohort to begin in Fall 2026
  • Professional Development, including: Peer Supervision and Advanced Training
  • Personal Growth Programs
  • On-demand online courses and resources
  • Regional, in-person initiatives

Are you connected to other psychosynthesis centers or programs?

The Istituto di Psicosintesi in Florence, Italy, holds and cares for Roberto Assagioli’s archives, library and legacy at Casa Assagioli – and are the heart of all our connections with psychosynthesis.  Additionally, psychosynthesis is offered through a range of centers, institutes, and programs around the world, each with its own history and approach.  While there is a shared lineage, there is no single coordinating body, and programs are independently developed and offered.

How is the Psychosynthesis Institute (Pi) different to other trainings? What is distinctive in your approach?

Our orientation is to offer tools for personal and professional development in service of social transformation, honoring Roberto Assagioli’s vision through a cross-cultural, co-creative approach. We emphasize experiential learning, small cohorts, and the integration of inner awareness with meaningful action in the world. The Psychosynthesis Institute is one expression within a wider, ongoing field of work shaped by many, past and present. Our offerings reflect a particular orientation that is both experiential and deeply grounded in Roberto Assagioli’s 7 core experiences of psychosynthesis within the act of will.

Are you only for coaches or professionals?

While we offer training for coaches and professional development, our core commitment is to make this work accessible beyond professional settings through resources, programs, and experiences that support personal growth and Self-development.

We are dedicated to sharing the transformative potential of psychosynthesis more widely in service of social transformation.
